Isosceles Triangle Pattern

Morning, happy Saturday to you all ๐Ÿ˜€

Today I am sharing my latest pattern, an Isosceles triangle motif which was a joy to crochet.  The pattern is available on dannycatcrochet.com and also on Ravelry.

The treble stitch is one of the first stitches I learnt as a child.I remember that granny squares were very fashionable at the time. I find the treble stitch soothing, providing a natural rhythm that makes me feel relaxed. I am sure you can all identify with this feeling.

The Isosceles triangle  motif is one of three triangles I have recently been working on (more to follow) and is designed to be used as either part of a small throw, cushion or bunting.

The yarn used is Stylecraft 100% acrylic double knitting. The yarn is durable and safe to put in the washing machine. It is ideal for household items that sustain a lot of use.

The hook size 4 mm chosen was recommended on the yarn label.

The complementary colours used are Violet and clematis (purple and pink).  Nature provided the inspiration, notably the colour of fuchsias that beautifully adorn many Summer gardens.

Hope you enjoy the pattern as much as I enjoyed designing it.

Would love to hear from you so please feel free to leave a comment.

New Pattern Release- Hexagon Motif with Texture

Welcome to my second free pattern release, the pattern is available on dannycatcrochet.com and also on Ravelry.
For the past few weeks, I have been working on hexagons. For my latest pattern I have used Lion Brands Coboo DK cotton (51% cotton, 49% rayon from bamboo).
The cotton and rayon mix provides good stitch demarcation, is soft and has beautiful drape.
Although the colour is named mauve, it has more of a brown pink hue. I think you will agree that this shade provides great definition and matches perfectly with white.

The hook chosen (4mm) is the hook recommended on the yarn label. A larger 4.5 mm was initially tried, as I am conscious that crocheters often need to go up a hook size from the size recommended on the label. However, the tension was too loose, therefore I reverted back to a smaller size.

The design delivers an interesting hexagon, creating both visual interest and tactile feel. The sample could be used as part of a throw, cushion or decorative mat.
Hope you enjoy the pattern as much as I enjoyed designing it.
