Good morning, it's terrific Tuesday and time to share another pattern motif.
Today it's a circle motif made using recycled yarn and treble stitch.
The pattern is available on both dannycatcrochet.com and on Ravelry
For this pattern, I have continued with my theme of using the treble stitch. In addition, I have started to experiment with recycled yarn. The yarn is Stylecraft Recreate DK 100% Recycled yarn, 40% Wool, 30% Acrylic and 30% Polyester.
The yarn has a soft texture and provides beautiful stitch definition with the bonus of subtle specks of colour, perfect for garments and accessories. I found that a 4 mm hook gave the correct tension.
The circle motif is one of the samples I have been working on for Part 2 of my International Diploma in Crochet. It was designed to be used as a plant pot mat but could also be part of a garment e.g a beret.
Over the past few weeks I have lived and breathed circles! For some reason, I just couldn't stop my circles looking like hexagons 😞.
However, I persevered and realised the importance of:
- staggering my increases
- increasing the same number of stitches on each round (Round 1- 12 stitches, Round 2- 24 stitches etc)
I am really pleased with the result and feel proud that I managed to avoid frilling, buckling or a bowl shape. 👏👏
Hope you enjoy my crochet motif pattern, I have included a written and a chart pattern on the pdf for your reference.
I would love to hear from you, so please feel free to leave a comment.
Cheers
Joanne 😀
